Communications Officer, Campaign for Rural England Wiltshire

40% role, 6-month initial contract (£28,000 p.a. full-time equivalent)

CPRE Wiltshire has campaigned tirelessly and successfully for decades on key issues related to strategic planning, road building and climate change. A national environmental charity, we have more than 200 highly energetic local groups, 55,000 members across the UK and routinely draw media comment.

The CPRE Wiltshire branch is now looking to build on that success by recruiting an enthusiastic and proactive Communications Officer to implement our local digital and public relations strategy, and stimulate engagement and media coverage to grow our membership within the county. You will build and nurture media contacts, place stories in print, social media channels and on the website and work with expert volunteers to support membership growth by ensuring information about our activities reaches the widest possible audience.

Make an immediate impact as you raise awareness of the issues we care about in conventional and digital media, build our membership and refresh your skills for your future career.

The position is flexible and is offered freelance, up to 64 hours per month. You can find a full job specification here.

To talk informally about the role, please email suggesting a suitable time for a call. You can use the same email address to apply no later than 5pm on Monday 17 May: for this, please send a CV and covering note explaining what you can bring to the role.
