Marlborough Dark Skies Festival – CPRE talk 30th October

Marlborough Town Council and the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are hosting the first Marlborough Dark Skies Fest in October. Marlborough will be the location for a fun festival of events opening on the 25th of October 2021 and culminating in a jam-packed programme on the weekend of the 30th – 31st of science and art activities celebrating the night sky.

BBC’s The Sky at Night presenter, Prof Chris Lintott, is the guest speaker and there will be an opportunity to visit the Blackett Observatory – the world’s oldest computerised telescope at Marlborough College.

CPRE Wiltshire will be attending this event on Saturday the 30th of October and our very own Emma Marrington – our stary skies expert, will be one of the speakers. Find out about the importance of dark skies on the nature population, the best spots for star gazing and how you can get involved in reducing light pollution.

We look forward to seeing you there!
