Positive Steps Towards Better Buildings

Major reviews on housing design are being considered by Robert Jenrick, Housing Secretary.

The combination of the National Design Guide, published last autumn, the Building Better, Building Beautiful final report to be published this week, the Letwin review and now the recently published findings and recommendations by A Housing Design Audit for England by Place Alliance and CPRE, is beginning to show results.

Robert Jenrick, the Housing Minister, made a statement to that effect in an article in the Sunday Telegraph at the weekend.

The Minister stated that he wants to put people at the heart of the planning process. If that is true the Government must review the text in much of the NPPF (National Planning Policy Framework) in order to make this explicit and deliverable.
