Wine tasting at Great Chalfield Manor – Thursday 31st October
We cordially invite you to attend a CPRE Wiltshire Wine Tasting evening on the Thursday the 31st of October 2024 at 7pm
This will be held in the Great Hall at Great Chalfield Manor, near Bradford on Avon, by kind permission of the owners and hosts Robert and Pats Floyd.
The theme of the tasting will be The Wines of Italy “Top to Toe” – visiting six regions and comparing the red wines of Piedmont, Tuscany, Abruzzo, Campania, Puglia and Sicily.
You will also receive a short talk by Robert Floyd on the ‘History and Biodiversity” at Great Chalfield.
Our sommelier for the evening will be Richard Volpi, who has Italian heritage.
Richard’s first role in the wine trade was in 1996 with Champagne Lanson UK, following which he worked for a number of wine importers. Over that time, Richard has worked closely with The Oxford Wine Company as a supplier, getting to know the team here very well indeed. He joined the wine trade after eleven years of various selling roles, including stationery, luggage and sportswear, but fell in love with all things wine and has not looked back. Richard has WSET Level 3 (although it wasn’t called that when he passed!) and joined The Oxford Wine Company in January 2024. When not working with wine, he’ll either be on the tennis court, golf course, travelling or in the kitchen.
To book your place contact Geraldine or Mike by email admin@cprewiltshire.org.uk or phone 013807222157 Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays 9:30 – 15:30. The cost is £25 per person.
