Renewable energy

Renewable energy is key to a thriving countryside.

We’re working for a countryside that everyone can enjoy free from the effects of air pollution and climate breakdown. And this means getting more of our energy from wind, sunlight, and hydropower.  But without careful planning, these energy sources can have a detrimental effect on the appearance of the countryside.

Wiltshire CPRE is creating a series of local position statements on evaluating proposed “green” energy developments.

Statements have been issued on battery storage, solar arrays and wind turbines. The statements aim to help local CPRE groups (or other community groups) take a critical but objective view of the merits or demerits of such applications.
