Volunteering opportunities as a trustee

Volunteering as one of our trustees

We are CPRE, the countryside charity with more than 200 highly energetic local groups and 55,000 members across the UK: in our local branch CPRE Wiltshire is currently active on key issues around town development, road building and heritage assets like Stonehenge.

We are looking to expand our board of trustees and are searching in particular for people who can bring expertise in financial management or environmental consultancy to our board. We offer a great opportunity for you to use your skills and experience to support a truly rural local charity, an organisation where you can make an immediate impact.

Two exciting new roles

For our Finance trustee, the role is to provide governance and general support, working closely with the Chair of trustees and our Treasurer. As trustee, your role is essentially to advise, guide and reassure the Board on all aspects of the charity’s management and reporting (internal and external), control systems and risk management. You’ll need to be ready to support the Board to deliver an actionable budget and support membership business development.

Our Planning & Environmental Management trustee will also work closely with the Chair of trustees as well as with the members of the Planning sub-group. As a trustee, your role is essentially to advise, guide and reassure the Board that our charity is fulfilling its charitable purpose from an environmental point of view as well as offer expert guidance on our responses to planning issues.

Application deadline: 1 June 2021. Further details of both roles can be found on Reach’s website at https://reachvolunteering.org.uk/
