Countryside Under Climate Stress

This is what a countryside under climate stress looks like.

Food and water shortages, drought and failed harvests were once warnings about the future. Now they’re the new normal, and the reality we face right now.

We must tackle this in a joined-up, future-facing way:

– Helping farmers to adapt, and become more resilient and sustainable

– Restoring habitats fit for a new climate

– Making sure we’re prepared to deal with shortages in food and water

– Future-proofing our infrastructure and making better decisions about how we use land

The government needs to stop treating adaptation like an afterthought and tackle this with the urgency and investment it needs.
