CPRE Gloucestershire, the local branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), is marking its centenary year with anniversary auction to raise funds in support of its ongoing work protecting Gloucestershire’s countryside.

This special event will run online from Saturday 11 April at 8am, for two weeks, closing on Saturday 25 April at 8pm.

The event features an extensive prize catalogue including a villa holiday in Menorca, an exclusive tour of London’s Central Criminal Court, the Old Bailey, a luxury stay in a rewilding treehouse at Elmore Court, tickets to Cheltenham Races and a Cotswold wine tour and tasting experience, among many others.

“This is a really special moment for CPRE Gloucestershire,” said Steve Smith, Vice Chair at CPRE Gloucestershire. “As we mark 100 years of CPRE, it’s also a chance to look ahead to the future. The centenary auction brings together local people, supporters and businesses in a simple but meaningful way – to enjoy some fantastic prizes while helping us continue our work protecting the countryside. We’re very grateful to everyone who has generously donated prizes to support the auction.”

For 100 years, the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) has stood up for the countryside. From campaigning for the first Green Belts and National Parks to securing protections for hedgerows and strengthening planning legislation, CPRE has consistently championed sustainable development and resilient local food systems. Yet despite these achievements, the countryside continues to face increasing and unprecedented pressures.

The auction is open to participants both in Gloucestershire and beyond, offering a wide range of prizes and experiences for all interests and budgets. Registration is now open at www.galabid.com/cpre100/register, where the full prize catalogue can also be pre-viewed ahead of the auction going live.
