Our countryside ambassador in Wiltshire Life magazine!
CPRE Wiltshire’s countryside ambassador talks to Wiltshire Life about her passion for the county, finding her perfect home here and why she has joined up with CPRE Wiltshire.
This month’s Wiltshire Life features an interview with our very own countryside ambassador, soprano Carly Paoli.
As well as details about her career – including meeting Pope Francis – Carly talks about how important she finds looking after our environment and how she became involved in the CPRE.
Her tree presentation in Urchfont last month was a drop in the ocean compared to the 180 laurels she has planted at home throughout lockdown!
“Through lockdown, Mum and Dad got me involved in the garden,” she explains. “We also filled in an old pond area and sowed it with wildflowers which exploded into colour this summer. There were more bees and butterflies than I have ever seen. And now we’ve got house martins nesting in the eaves.”
“CPRE feels really special,” she adds. “It makes me feel part of the community here in Wiltshire and it’s a lovely thing to be involved with. We’ve all come to realise how important our rural areas are for our wellbeing. These are areas that need protecting.”
