The Stonehenge Road Tunnel

17th November 2020

Following completion of the formal examination of Highways England’s A303 Stonehenge scheme the Transport Secretary has decided to grant permission despite the recommendation of a panel of five Planning Inspectors to refuse it.  CPRE, through the Stonehenge Alliance, together with many other bodies and hundreds of thousands of individuals, are continuing to object.

If we are to succeed in our objection to this outrageous decision to permanently damage the  World Heritage Site, we need as much popular support as possible.

A petition “Save Stonehenge World Heritage Site” is on the 38 Degrees website, and on Change.org for those outside the UK.

You can read more about this and sign the petition here.

Further information about the Stonehenge Tunnel project is on our website here.
